Berner Gstaader Bergkaese

Produced daily at 1,080 metres above sea level in the picturesque Saanenland region of Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland, Gstaader Bergkäse is crafted from fresh mountain milk sourced from local farms.

The diverse alpine herbs and pristine mountain air of the region contribute to its distinctive flavour profile. Matured for 4 to 6 months, this traditional Swiss mountain cheese develops a balanced, mildly savoury character with aromatic herbal notes, a supple texture and a clean, lingering finish.

Its distinctive packaging features traditional Swiss paper-cut artwork (Scherenschnitt), a regional craft that has been practised in the Bernese Oberland for generations and reflects the cheese’s strong connection to its alpine origins.

Ideal for premium cheese displays, grazing boards, sandwiches and alpine-inspired dishes, Gstaader Bergkäse offers broad appeal for customers seeking authentic Swiss mountain cheese with a strong sense of place.

Originally known in Switzerland as Berner Gstaader Bergkäse.
